The Nanuet-Sleepy Hollow scouting report

January
4

Two weeks ago, Westlake and Pleasantville came down to the final match as two of the top Division II schools hooked up.

Today, Nanuet travels to Sleepy Hollow in what should be a very good match between two evenly-matched teams.

A few weight classes standout with excellent matches, depending on the respective coaches’ decisions.

Should Sleepy Hollow coach Brian Tompkins bump up his son, Connor, he will face Bill Smith. These two strong men would wage a great bout. If Nanuet’s Rich Berkowitz weighs in at 130, he could face Jean Patino. Both are physically strong mid weights who dominate their opponents.

Nanuet’s concern is the health of 140-pounder Xavier, X-man, Maldonado and 171-pounder Sal Arena. The senior and junior, respectively, sat out the Nyack match on Dec. 22 with injuries.
